Your questions answered. If you have a problem with using the Youth Investment Fund learning portal then we'll do all we can to help. You can also get in touch on our contact page.
Q: Why is learning part of the Youth Investment Fund?
The Youth Investment Fund includes an explicit objective to strengthen the evidence base on the impact of non-formal learning opportunities for young people. Developing a better understanding of what works, and for who, will help organisations make delivery decisions that lead to better outcomes for young people engaging with their services. And making a collective case about the impact of open access youth work will give the sector a stronger voice about the importance of this work.
Q: I’m not a Youth Investment Fund grantee, how can I get involved in the Learning Project?
We will share insights and learning from the project on this website and will look for opportunities to attend events to promote our findings across the sector. We are open to feedback from any interested stakeholders (Visit our Contact page or email direct to YIFlearning@thinkNPC.org) and are currently considering whether we can engage through any more formal channels with non-grantee organisations.
Q: How were the Youth Investment Fund cluster areas chosen?
Funding was made available in six places across the country where Big Lottery Fund and DCMS identified it would have the biggest impact.
To understand this picture, they looked at multiple factors including the local youth population, the services and support already available, levels of deprivation and the number of young people who are not in education, training and employment. This approach was tested with other funders and organisations working in the youth sector.
Q: How will your share learning and insights from the project?
We will keep this website up to date with key insights and learning. Watch the News page for blogs on what we’re learning as we go.
